. . . the problem with skeptics and atheists like Shermer and Dawkins is that they seem to think they can shame religious people into not believing. Never mind that they both understand belief is a completely irrational way of looking at something. Rational arguments against irrational beliefs fall short simply because those holding the beliefs CHOOSE to believe them. Confronted with someone who actually believes 2+2 = 5 you can count fingers till you die, but they will still believe 2+2 = 5.
