Re: Tim Burton's Vincent
This and "Frankenweenie" were the shorts that got him canned from Disney for being 'too dark'. Now he's directing the new 3-D "Alice in Wonderland" for them, starring his usual cadre of friends (Depp, Carter). I bet he laughed his ass all the way to the bank when they asked... Talk about vindication?

Re: Atheism: A Better World for All
I want a shoehorn, the kind with teeth.
People should get beat up for stating their beliefs.

'Cause I know there's no such thing.

Re: Grand Canyon Carved by Floodwater Debunked
I heard that reptoid deniers were all pedophiles? I heard it on the internet so of course it must be true and I challenge you to prove me wrong.

Re: Watchmen [Intro] 5:34
I've seen it twice now and reread the GN before both viewings. I felt some of the changes made for a much tighter, more coherent ending. Cloned psychic brain stuck inside a giant fake alien squid? I mean, really. Come on...
Also, some of the songs people are bitching about were actually said to be playing during the exact moments in the GN - or they were inferred.
Many of the shots are detailed reproductions of panels and whole paragraphs of dialog are pulled from the page, verbatim. The casting was on mark and the FX are great.
I just don't get most of the crap critiques I've read. I understand everyone's predisposed to hate this movie, no matter who made it or when, but it's just not that bad people. Seriously. I really enjoyed it except for the awkward sex scene... which ends in exactly the same cheesy way (jet of flame).

Re: The Quiet Earth: And Now I Am God
Thanks for the reminder. This is a great take on the I Am Legend/Omega Man concept that's often overlooked (if seen at all)?

Re: James Randi in Australia
James Randi and Harry Houdini before him proved that the best thieves make the best cops.

Re: The Farm of Tomorrow
It's Tex Avery for f*ck's sake! A Screwy Squirrel short would've proved some humor is timeless.

Re: Bill Hicks Perfectly Describes Rush Limbaugh
It's funny because it's true. Rush eats poop. Not Geddy or Neil of course. I'm not sure about Lifeson?

This guy's got some serious skills, but if you want to see the limits really pushed you need to checkout Viktor Kee.

Re: Ted Talks: Dan Dennett: A Secular, Scientific Rebuttal to Rick Warren
As someone who was made to take a mandatory Religious Education class in 3rd form (8th grade) in England, I'm getting quite a kick out of this concept.

Re: Live Action Role Playing
It's the ones throwing actual live grenades at each other that tend to worry me, but I can tell the difference between reality and fantasy, so I can see where you might be terrified?
