Re: Talking with a cat in japanese
far too unoriginal? It was just a cat video not some short art film. so drink your cafe latte and chill, dude.

Re: Japanese Samba Carnival in Asakusa,Tokyo -
considering many Japanese aren't Christian much less Catholic I doubt they start Lent afterwards. They do this mainly because of the Japanese connection with Brazil and the number of Japanese Brazilians in Japan - even though many of them have faced discrimination

Re: Ghost Stories - The Flute in the Wilds
I'd rather deal with ghosts than with any persons who would be playing banjoes in the woods - ie unholy terrors over redneck love

Re: Japanese Ghost Stories - The Demon-Haunted
Well it seemed to me you were initially upset that my video made the headline and yours apparently have not.
I've been submitting here for a year and I don't really know how things get chosen or tossed aside. I tend to get a little miffed with the later because most things I submit are videos I have spent time and effort to make unlike videos that are just TV/movie/music video clips.
I also thought it strange that the very next video I submitted - another ghost story video - was voted off within a day of submission and shortly after your complaint.
As to your criticism, I'm not against criticism. I just thought yours didn't really apply given the nature of the video. Now had you critique my delivery and timing that would have made more sense.

Re: Japanese Ghost Stories - The Demon-Haunted
the phrase choppy editing generally brings to one's mind a series of edits not one in which actions or plot lines or even words are left out or end and begin abruptly.
As for your part about production quality I don't what you expect from a guy with just a candle and a camera.
You have to remember I do this for Youtube. I'm not a professional video maker nor do I have a background in video making either as a profession or as a study. I think your standards are set to high and border on pretentiousness.

Re: Mad World
ok.... did this stop short of something? The video ends right in the middle of a word in the middle of a sentence near the beginning of the song.
This might work if you played the whole song or at least to a point that was poignant to the kid swinging.
The problem isn't that it is short. The problem is that it just ends abruptly. Still you got 150+ views for what looks like an unfinished project. Is there a Part 2, perchance?

Re: Japanese Ghost Stories - The Demon-Haunted
No accounting for taste?
Ouch! That's rather rude especially coming from someone who claims they don't want to offend anyone.
As it is, I question your ability at moderation when it comes to choosing videos to be headlined, made permanent, or voted down and away.
You use terms like low production quality and choppy editing for a video of a guy with a candle and a camera and almost no editing. How can one transition be considered choppy? I think you are just using the cliche terms to make it sound as though you know something about critiquing.

Re: Japanese Ghost Stories - The Demon-Haunted
well of course it's rough. I'm not a professional video maker by trade. I've never taken a class on it for one. I only got a camera and starting editing videos less than 3 years ago.
As for the production quality I was going for very low because I wanted to imitate old storytelling where it was just the storyteller - no special effects or music. As for choppy editing there was no editing. It was pretty much one shot with one transition.
As for the delivery, I'm not a professional storyteller so I make mistakes and trip up on my tongue. If I was a pro would I be uploading vids to Youtube? No, I'd be out on the circuit making money.
Basically, don't set your standards too high with us regular youtubers. Save it for the professionals.

unfortunately my last ghost story video got voted down into oblivion so you probably won't see anymore if this trend continues

Re: Japanese Ghost Stories - The Demon-Haunted
