Re: Seth MacFarlane: Harvard Class Day 2006
I really do love it when people show a complete lack of intellectual prowess when they in reality, think they've caught someone with their dashing common sense.

Yeah, Bush got his MBA from Harvard. And yes, he's not the nation's finest president. But who might fill that title in history? Who might go down as having been almost...dare I say...criminal? Ah yes, it was Richard Nixon. Now he went to Duke, does that make Duke less of a school? If there's one lesson you might have learned in Phil 101, it's that correlations do not necessarily mean connections. Go read your Croce and get back to me.

On the whole, Harvard is a fantastic school. Most of the people who argue otherwise are bitter or insecure.

Oh, of course it does. I commend you for your cogent insight! Sadly, foolish people, like myself, apply in the thousands each year. With your immense sapience, I admonish you to continue your "Harvard sucks" campaign, until we've all fallen inline with your wisdom!

Re: Seth MacFarlane: Harvard Class Day 2006
As one of the Harvard students who was sitting in the rain that day, I really have to question your respective senses of humor (if not your understanding of Harvard). We're not nearly as Victorian as you all seem to think. Harvard students, as a whole, are exceedingly lewd. Sure, there were a few staff and faculty members behind MacFarlane, who didn't seem to enjoy his little show, but that only ADDED to the experience for the majority of us.

Put away your copies of Good Will Hunting, With Honors, and Legally Blond, and try to understand that our institution and student body has changed a great deal since the myths were formed many years ago.

As for his jokes...they were extremely well catered to his audience.
