Re: An Indecent Proposal from Sarah Silverman
yeah cause obama is so much better for america: didnt close down that prison in cuba; didnt really end any of the wars; didnt prosecute any banker for the relentless fraud...im sure you get the picture. hes a hack, a puppet, and blaming congress for any of his failures is like an alcoholic blaming his wife for getting smacked in the face for talking back. just sayin'

Re: 50 Renowned Academics On God
myself, ive been atheist after a long haul through religion, the bible, and a lot of coversations. the question of who we are and where we are going is something that motivates me more than trying to fit the fantasy of the christian beliefs into my life. i find more joy with people and my relationship with people, than with a god. there is what i know and what i dont know. belief asks for participation, not questions. questions like: why cant children pray in school? i say: if thats so, then churches should allow science in the pews. but they wont, and thats ok. it wouldnt work anyways.

Re: Beagle Freedom Project: Second Rescue
if so, then i certainly would be very upset. hurting an animal is not cool at all, in fact it exposes our lack of compassion. from polluting the planet, to killing iraqis, we just don't get it as a species. or maybe we do. i would like to think that we have evolved, and from some of the posts on this channel, i get the impression that most of us here believe we have evolved. and then we find out, that we take two steps forward and one step back.

Max Keiser has been saying that most if not all modern day banking scandals run through the City of London first. It's like an island on an island. It accounts for almost 40% of British GDP ergo, the reticence of regulators to rein the banksters in.
