Re: Late Show: Where's Joaquin Phoenix?: 2/11/09
Scripted? Watch it again. Letterman is clearly perturbed. This is not the standard "ha-ha" banter that he plays with Bruce Willis and other actors that he's having a fun time with. He's obviously ticked at the fact that Joaquin is completely ill equipped to carry on a meaningful conversation. Dude. This is painful to watch.

Re: Ron Paul: Update on the American Economy
Why isn't this guy going to be our next President.

He obviously knows better than either of the other two candidates and is unwilling to "spin" it for his gain--he's telling the truth and always has.

Jeez... I'm moving to Canada.

Re: Twin Peaks: It is Happening Again
I totally don't get it without seeing any of the rest of the series.

Re: How To Photograph a Nude Woman
I assume this is totally NSFW, right? Like, it actually has a nude woman in it as opposed to being funny, etc.

Re: JFK: The Separation of Church and State
The problem is that some things about following Christ are private, and some are public. It is not all or nothing. What he's saying is "don't do religion for man to praise you... follow Christ to the glory of God." That doesn't mean "don't follow Christ publicly"

Re: Scrubs: Dance Montage
Agreed.

We've been watching through the 6th season and it's on par with the 4th and 5th season, but not nearly as good as the 2nd and 3rd. So far the 7th sucks ass. I'm hoping they're getting all the baggage out of the way so they can actually be funny again.

Re: Paternoster
Okay... so why did the football player have the crazy guy's id card at the beginning? And what were the various people cleaning up on the way down? Why did the crazy guy try to dribble all that stuff out at the bottom? I feel like I just am not getting it.

Oh, and why did everyone stand back when the girl showed him... whatever she was holding... at the very end?

Re: Classic Albums: Nirvana, Nevermind
An excellent documentary, although it does over-exaggerate the greateness of the album, listening to Butch Vig talk about how they got the sound and how Kurt Cobain was really a pop song writer that wanted to keep everything heavy so that it wasn't perceived as sugar-coated crap was totally awesome.

My favorite part was when they talked about how he wrote the melody and the sounds of the words first and then found some semi-coherent sentences (arguable?) to fill out the song.

The ending is the classic part--so wrong and so funny.

Re: Gravity Pods
How'd you get past level 38? It's driving me batty!

It's the one that has 4 walls and 4 squares with repellers at the 4 corners of the walls.

Ick.
