Read Boiling Point. It explains how corporations create a false debate around global warming to further their own short term gain. In a move pioneered by tobacco companies, big oil has created a false buzz around global warming claiming the science is flawed. This "what if they are wrong" bullshit is fostered by a media who tries to paint both sides equally. But facts don't need equal time with bullshit... Sigh. We probably already screwed it up too bad.

So are you saying that it's okay to torture people as long as you don't have to hear about it or who gives a shit? I mean, it is illegal in the US and most of the world, and torture has been shown to be as unproductive as it is unethical.

I lived in Atlanta GA two years ago, and there we constant trials and lawsuits to remove evolution and or to introduce "creation science" into schools. It wouldn't bother me if the people who hated evolution so much could understand what they were arguing against. But that would be too much I suppose.
