These predictions and comments were written today in yesterday's stereotyped vernacular, completely tongue-in-cheek. Those photos, fonts, layouts? With Windows 1.0 yet to be released? Right. But the first page and the ascii headers are dead-on and made me laugh. Great to see all the old gadgets and realize how far we've come. I remember chatting on Bitnet in 1985, line by line in white on an algae-green screen, rerouting messages somehow if a link went down (unless the link between the US and Europe went down, in which case you were sunk). If you were nice, a chat friend might send you their id file -- a page of text with a lot of ascii doodles and anything they wanted to tell you about themselves. And if you were REALLY nice, they might send you their photo. By mail. In an envelope. With a stamp. Guess I'm officially a geezer. I'm going to bed.
