Re: Letterman: Dave Discusses Sarah Palin
No one has brought up the fact that these jokes were a calculated effort to create controversy and steal ratings from Conan O'Brien. I believe that he knew they were controvertial when he wrote them, or at least when he approved them, because, as some one said earlier, it's highly unlikely he wrote these jokes all by himself. Whether the Palins are in on it or not is debatable, I guess. I don't think they are personally. But I think that Dave knew what he was doing when he made the jokes in the first place, and I think he knows what he's doing by keeping the subject alive.

Re: Family Guy's Seth MacFarlane on Keith Olbermann's Show
Just a quick comment on the content of the report--I wish that more politicians swore with regularity. Maybe it would help us get over our puritanistic censorship laws.

Re: Steampunk Corkscrew
It looks like it's a neat thing, but the video was just too damn edited. Too many close-ups on parts that weren't the most interesting.

I was assuming that the year began after they found their partner.

Re: Worst Commercial Placement Ever
I don't know. I really want crackers now! But my sense of humor is warped like that...

Re: Christopher Hitchens vs Bill O'Reilly on Torture
Unfortunately, it's not just him. Interviewers, news commentators, and reporters throughout the entire scope of the media are guilty of reducing stories down to talking points and getting it all out before the next commercial. It's a non-partisan affliction. Bill-O and Keith-O are equally as guilty of it. It's not just TV. This is my single biggest pet peeve when I listen to NPR. Newspapers are getting thinnner and thinner. Anyone and their brother can post whatever they want on the internet. I wonder if it's better to live blissfully ignorant in a cabin in the woods?

Re: SNL Digital Short Orchestral Doogie Howser
I've been watching the DVDs of the first few seasons and I've realized three vital truths about SNL:
1) SNL ALWAYS sucked and was only good for a few laughs per show.
2) Everyone's favorite cast was the cast that was there when they first started watching.
3) That cast sucked too, but we don't remember the bad clips, only the good ones.

Fantastic! Another Oscar for Nick Park?

Re: In Living Color: Introducing Homey D. Clown
Absolute classic! I was in middle school when this was new, and I remember an urban legend about some guy who dressed up as Homey the Clown and would drive around town kidnapping kids. Supposedly he drove a hearse with eyes painted on the back and had a brick in his beating sock. Was this just in my area, or did anyone else hear about this too?

Re: Louis Theroux: Spiritual Healing
As a religious gay, I thank you for rephrasing that. :-)
Now as far as conversion therapy goes--I'll believe that being gay is a choice as soon as one of these big shot evangelicals chooses to live a healthy, open gay lifestyle for a year.
