Re: Nile Rodgers The Hitmaker BBC
Few months ago I had discussion with another fellow worker about what music will be played in the lab. He started playing streams that were constant rotations of Black Eye Peas, Rhianna, and Niki Manage...and I am not going to even check how to correctly spell those names. I was born in 1973. But I don’t think I can’t relate to that kid because I am just old dude. When I was his age, I was digging anywhere where I could find good music...year of production, or style was irrelevant. Well ... I must admit, I avoided listening pop songs on the radio, because I had so many “alternative” options to dig through.

So, some time ago, I literally imported my friends iTunes library and started randomly accessing some songs (with goofy old school iPod with wheel because they still have amazing storage capacity). I use public transportation, so I have one hour of travel to work, and I love music ... it is logical choice to get as much music as possible for such task. Just for fun, I wanted to listen to some Madonna (which I really loved when I was 10 years old, but when puberty happened, I was already into D.R.I. and Bad Brains.

This dude (Nile Rodgers) impacted my teen years with some amazing music, and I never realized it is him that also produced Bowie, and Duran Duran!!! It is f... soundtrack of my childhood! What really forced me was the rhythm section of the band, and then I found out about Bernard and Tony (Chic band’s bass and drums). You can’t replicate that sound ... The Power Station studio made some mad hits!

Re: Arnold Schwarzenegger Driving by Wil Sasso
I agree. I also wish Arnold responded to Will Sasso with his version of the same concept on his YouTube account!

Re: Stevie Ray Vaughan: Superstition
I was never fan of SRV. I can’t stand his hospital form of sterility when approaching music ... he had nothing special except recycling stuff other people did (without adding anything of his own) ... sorry ... I am not glad that he died, but ... I lie...when will Eric Clapton die finally?

Re: Atoms For Peace: Ingenue ft Thom Yorke
That dancer was actually very good! I was not sure if it was male or female so I had to google it. It turns out Tom was actually feeling her breasts with his forehead @ 2:22. Naughty boy you are Tom!

Re: Elevator Murder Experiment
Tough decision to make! But it is a good lesson. If it happens to me I will waste precious moments to determine if that’s just another hidden camera stunt: “HAHA! This thing is getting old guys!”

Re: How To Live With Bedbugs
The narrator is hilarious! There’s another one about his roommate, and it is equally fun.

Oh, and I actually thought he was joking about traumatic insemination, but it turns out it is the actual fact. Bedbugs are some morbid sexual creatures!

Re: The Newsroom - Opening Scene (Wow!)
Defining “the greatest” is like defining who your best friend is. I don’t know ... I have few great friends, but I could not single out the greatest. They are all great friends! For us Canadians, US is one of our great friends, but sometimes we act like “overly attached girlfriend”, in the “overly attached friend” way. I think both Americans, and the rest of the world is way too hard on USA.

Europe is not doing great economically either, and nationalistic fanatics are on the rise. Some are even openly fascistic. Maybe they were around all the time, but in the internet age we get access to that information much easier.

Russia is one soup of corruption saturated in nationalism and sprinkled with religious doctrine.

Mid east and Africa ... well they are big mess for many decades. They are like that dysfunctional family down the street with history of abuse, where even cops gave up responding to calls for help.

China is like a game of Minecraft with way too many spawners, so the framerate drops to the point of not being able to figure out what is going on.

Japan is like Joe Satriani. Yes, he can play his guitar with perfect technique, but not many people buy his music anymore.

And no one cares what is going on in Australia. They are as relevant as Finland.

My point is, on global level we all are not as great as we used to believe we were. So, don’t feel bad US, we overly attached friends will cheer you up. Canada will donate comedians any time you need.

Re: Check The Microphone Please.....
I have some weird urge to listen to old madonna songs now, just to purge this thing out of my head...as old as the songs had actual drums vs drum machines (like a virgin)
