I agree...If they are 100% correct, they are doing this wrong.

Re: The Business of Being Born
Well...I am not female, so I don’t think my opinion should count as very relevant. I am sure most women will make informed decision before they choose between midwifes or hospitals (assuming midwifes have completed formal training which is recognized by government regulators as sufficient for such task).

Obviously, there are pros and cons on either side...having c-section prematurely in hospitals, or running risk of being late for one is not easy to decide. Complications do not occur every time, however...once they happen...chances of surviving are much better if you are already in hospital (sometimes life may be lost within seconds – forget about jumping in taxi...in some cases it may be already too late...even if it is one in 1000 cases...I think it is still big risk). I know female body is strong and awesomely engineered, however if we relied on nature only, a lot of us would not be here today.

If the birth process incorporated midwifes in hospitals, with all those concepts they use which requires specific interior settings (bathtub/pool...)...that would be perfect compromise. It would provide more intimate surroundings rather than lying on hospital bed under scorching surgery lights, heavely sedated (like someone is about to remove tumour from your uterus), but still having option of immediate medical treatment if things turn wrong.

Re: Christopher Hitchens: Why Women Still Aren't Funny
I partially disagree with Hitchens. What about elderly women?

Let's give some credit to the funniest old ladies that I’ve ever seen: Ms Chapman, Cleese, Gilliam, Idle, Jones, and Palin!

Re: Edward Current: Calculate Your God Delusion Index
It is waste of time and stupid, but compared to what religion does...this is totally harmless stupidity.

Re: Paco De Lucia - Duelin' Flamencos
Original video of Paco De Lucia’s live performance combined with audio track recorded by someone that wanted to make parody of over the top performance of guitar gods .

Re: Bush Won, Get Over It
Well...I agree it may be some electoral issues...but this is not about 10% against 90%...margin of separation is very small...it still raises same issue...you can blame electoral system...but I would blame voters...obviously...democrats did not really try hard to win last election since republicans made so much mess, democrats did not even want to try to win (deal with your own republican mess now).

Re: Bush Won, Get Over It
I agree...

For instance, in 1991, Bosnian people voted for nationalistic political parties. Multiethnic country voting for nationalists (which spread messages of fear and hate) can be equivalent of suicide...and that is exactly what happened. Now Bosnians blame politicians...but hey...Bosnians stupidly voted for their own destruction. They never realized their responsibility as citizens in democratic society and full implications of their vote.

In USA people voted for Halliburton, oil, CNN, FOX, revenge, corporate war contractors that enjoy unlimited supply of tax dollars, health care and education for fewer Americans... instead for their own national interests.

Democracy is not good or bad, but our vote is.

Re: Latte Art
There’s cafe in Toronto doing this kind of stuff. Few people were waiting in line to order some of those “arts”. I walked out after 10 minutes of waiting without any hope of getting my coffee. You don’t go to that kind of place just to get espresso...because it takes forever...

Re: Jimmy Justice: Cop Makes Illegal U-Turn
I don’t know about you guys, but I think this “cop” realistically could not even get to manager position in Popeye’s Chicken restaurant...however it is perfectly fine for such “genius” to represent law in NY City.
