Panda classification is kinda weird. Current molecular taxonomy seems to indicate that the giant panda is actually a bear, while the red panda splitting off further back in the evolutionary tree... being just as related to dogs and seals as it is to bears or raccoons. Of course, researchers are claiming that more research is needed. Then again, it's hard to acquire more funding if you say "Yep, that's it. Not really much else to learn here."

Honestly, in 1954 a nice thick coat of paint would have done a pretty good job of reducing the amount of radiation that enters the home. A nice paint job would have been like hanging a lead curtain around your home.
