Re: SNL Steve Martin: Don't Buy Stuff You Cannot Afford
This skit is funny - as long as the stuff they're talking about aren't necessities. In the last 10 years the cost of everything has gone up and my paycheck has barely budged. What happens when you can't afford the combination of food, housing, and, the big one, health care. Not so funny then. Try not buying those things.

Re: Johnny Carson and Doc Severinsen: Thanksgiving Plans
I remember watching this in 1979 and laughing through the whole thing. Doc's best non-musical moment on the show.

Re: To Kimmel: Mom Ate All Halloween Candy
What a sweetheart. It's kind of crap to tell you're kid a lie like this just so adults can laugh at the reaction which is usually tears, but obviously her mom is doing something right to produce a kid like this.

Re: Giant Robotic Dinosaur Scares Zack
These parents are dicks. For ten seconds of laughter they're willing to give their kid two weeks of nightmares. Nice.

Re: I'm a Cat, Now I'm a Bunny
Cat's put their heads in all sorts of interesting places they shouldn't. They're not always as clever as their reputation.

Re: I'm a Cat, Now I'm a Bunny
I don't think you need to apologize - I believe you nailed it. Look at the way the head moves when he's finished putting the bunny hat on - very sudden and unnatural, but the movement makes perfect sense if the shot was reversed.

Re: Hula Hoop Dude
Strangely hypnotic and lovely. Considering the ugly setting that's impressive.

Bad taste, but effective satire.

Re: Old Spice: Did You Know
I agree. All that perfumed crap is toxic. A good smelling man is a guy who you can't smell at all unless you're less than an inch away - and then it should only be the body's natural scent. As a hetro guy, I feel the same way about women's perfume. Very good commercials though.

Re: John F Kennedy: Secret Society Speech
Terrific speech, but I didn't hear him discussing "secret societies that are the real power in global affairs." It seemed to me to be a speech about the differences between a free, democratic U.S. and the communist countries who were our greatest adversaries during the cold war. The Soviet Union was a secretive society but hardly a secret, clandestine organization pulling the world's strings.

Re: John Cleese on Christianity
I'd love to see the rest of this. If for no other reason than to have John Cleese's final thought in the cliip finished... They are incapable of understanding whose teachings? I may never know.
