man... gotta love american 'democracy'.
I think the best thing that could happen to the US would be a reform of its electoral system so that proportional representation comes into play. That way the dems and the republicans can each have their side, while 3rd party candidates will hold the balance of power. IE Nader or Ron Paul.

Dude cmon now... post some of your stuff so we can belittle your work.
Not too flippin bad actually, for an animated short I rather enjoyed it.
Fancy textures and lighting will never compensate for a poor plot or story line.
Think of the game crysis, by far the most pretty game ever to be released on the PC and yet with all that time spent making a admittedly beautiful looking game. It falls flat on its face when story plot and entertainment components are considered.
Don't get cought up in the effects at the detriment of something truly meaningful.
