Re: Sarah Palin Book Signing: Interviews with Supporters
For starters I don't like Sarah Palin one iota and agree for the most part with you. I just don't think that showing the ignorance of her supporters is a good way to make their point since that street goes both ways. So yes, definitely a cheap shot

Re: Sarah Palin Book Signing: Interviews with Supporters
Cheap shot. Editing issues aside, this same video could just as easily be made about anybodies supporters. During the presidential campaign I was hearing pretty much the same type of garble coming out of both sides supporters. People in general aren't informed. I think people are too busy to educate themselves about all of these issues. As school has gotten more hectic for me I don't have time to read the books and news that I used to, and I used to be pretty proud of my current affairs literacy. Now I don't know jack lol

Re: CNN's Rick Sanchez Calls FOX News Liars
Or maybe he is merely pointing out that an attack on his network made by Fox was a lie...

Re: Letterman: Dave Discusses Sarah Palin
Whether it is funny or not to you is pretty irrelevant. To call it "pedophelic" when she has a daughter that WAS knocked up, and a baseball player and governor who are known for indiscretions, well if not funny it's still spot on right. They're righteous indignation is absurd, and to give them even a moment of airtime pisses me off. David is right. Hearing the jokes repeated the girl Willow didn't come into mind. Why you ask? B/c it was the 18 year old that got knocked up! THAT is the thing that the whole country knows! Do people say to Dave Chappelle "well Dave, not all white people talk that why so this is truly in bad taste"? If they do, they are tools, and should be derided by not only their friends and family but all of society for being such. Who cares if it was Willow that was actually at the game? It's a J.O.K.E.

Re: Homeland Security: Obedience Training
I agree, it's nice to see people who are breaking the law showing such remarkable restraint. If only more people followed their example...

Re: Homeland Security: Obedience Training
You seem to miss the first minute. There was an arrest, and the supreme court decided the issue already. They declared the stop illegal, and he legally did not have to answer the question. The DHS were BREAKING THE LAW, and he held their feet to the fire. Since when do we base right or wrong on whether we like a person or not? Just b/c he may not be someone you like doesn't mean he was wrong in any way for asserting his rights.

Your classroom example would be more analogous if the teacher was first touching the child in his "no no" place. And then the boy decided to provoke the teacher. Is the kid being a jerk? Perhaps, but the teacher shouldn't have been playing doctor in the first place. Why? Because the supreme court already decided that question!

The whole point of the video from start to finish is to show that we are being trained to be compliant to authority regardless of whether the authority is following the law. Go figure that you would have rather he was compliant...

Re: Congressional Black Caucus on Gay Marriage & Prop 8
How some people cannot see the parallels between their own struggles and they're neighbors flabbergasts me. At least be honest about why you are apposed to it. It's not for religion, or societies good, those are just covers for one simple thing. Deep down inside, when they see a gay couple they feel something uncomfortable in the pit of their stomach. Maybe its repressed homosexuality, or maybe its just plain ajada, who knows. But instead of addressing that and owning it, they turn it around and justify that uncomfortability with further hatred and repression of a segment of society.

Sure two out of the three politicians sound like they're on the right side of history on this one, but what are they doing about it?

Re: Cop Chokes Photographer
I would say the ones that the people are forced to deal with are (the cool ones have the desk jobs), and if you happen to meet a nice one, they are probably teamed up with an a-hole. They seem to approach every situation with the idea that you are guilty of something and need to be subdued/punished/caught. On the other hand, they are also being shot at by people so I suppose they end up being a little more high-strung...
