Re: Jeffrey Ross: Morning News Roast
Going on a local (i.e. half of Illinois and Indiana) news program is a pretty decent spot. He had *minutes* of air time, showcasing some of his stuff.....way better than a 30-second radio spot that's mostly an announcer's voice. He got to speak and be playful with the local celebrities. It's hard to beat that. JR's a bit under-rated/unknown despite his talents, so this spot is helping to get him where he deserves to be.

Jellis, you keep spouting about the banks. Give us some links or references.

Re: Dicken's Cider
Bob & Tom's (morning radio show) Love Brothers did an awesome Dicken's Cider "ad" about 10 years ago. It went into way more depth and cleverness than what this tv spot could do. If only someone had a link to it.

Global earthquakes peaked in 2003&2004...so Jesus already returned....and you got left behind!

Re: Penn & Teller Bullshit: End of the World
I don't know...if you listen to the guy's voice inflection, it sounds like he had finished his sentence/point. "....We can show that." Penn then refutes, but does not cut off, with several valid points.

Re: Improv Everywhere: Best Game Ever
Again, this is not improv. At best, the announcers did some off-the-cuff commentary that might be improvish, but that's normal for commentators. Planning an event....having "dedicated" fans, etc., is not improv......they placed actors somewhere, but that seems like a very different sport form improv.....really, where is the improv? The players played the same game, the fans just watched, and the planted fans did their planted maneuvers. Bottom line: orchestrating social shenanigans is not improv.

Re: Apple Ad - Drunk Jeff Goldblum
That was retarded.
Hehe, get it?
Decent clip, for real!

Re: Improv Everywhere: Frozen Grand Central
Participants were given directions, i.e. a script, and they did not respond to the surroundings or situation or each other. That is not improv. Performance art, perhaps, but not improv.
If you call that improv, you probably think Dane Cook is a comedian.

Re: Heckler Gets Dane Cook to Retire
After contemplation, here's what I've determined:
Dane Cook is:
a great *story teller*
yet not a comedian.
He can relate a tale in a fun, energetic, quasi-humorous manner, but at the end of the day, it's just a story and not pure comedy.
So, if you change your viewpoint to see him as an *entertainer*, you'll find him much more tolerable.

Re: Newfoundland Frozen Waves
It appears the bay is frozen over. However, I couldn't see anyone's breath, and the people weren't dressed for extremely cold weather....so I would guess that it *had* been quite cold, and then rapidly warmed up, causing some melting and weakening in the ice sheets. Ice floats. The waves underneath started breaking up the ice and forced it upon shore, creating the observed effect. A cool (or warm?) illusion, indeed, but an illusion, nonetheless.
Also, there is no Santa Claus.

Re: U.S. Government's Dirty Little Secret about Meat
What a marvelously biased report. And those graphics! There's just something about "Carbon Monoxide Gas" in psycho font that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
Devil's Advocate: Is CO merely making the meat *look* fresh, or might it actually be preserving the meat? For example, the CO might kill off bacteria, or remove the oxidizing O2/air atmosphere.....in a sense, the CO atmosphere is an "anti-oxidant." Browsing the Google, I only see knee-jerk reactions from bloggers, but not any solid data. If anyone has some good science on this, I'd love to see it.

30% voted? Max Weinberg returns to drum.
60% voted? Conan resumes hosting.
70% voted? Andy returns.
80% voted? Hell, let's renew The Office for another season.
Gotta entice the people somehow, and entertainment might be the way to do it.
