Re: Man Backs over Police Car
Didn't this happen back in May? I think I read that the in-car dash cam was just released and that's why the story is getting its second wind.

Funny, but heavily lifted from a Mad Magazine feature of a similar nature from the last election: http://home.comcast.net/~atrios/jesusbush.jpg

Re: Sarah Palin 2006 Alaska's Governor's Debate
And the "what if your daughter was pregnant" question was very telling of what goes on in the Palin household. She said, "I would choose life." Not, I would talk with my daughter, take her feelings into consideration, work out what would be best for everyone involved, maybe let her daughter decide how she wants to spend the rest of her life. Nope..."*I* would choose life."

Re: Sarah Palin 2006 Alaska's Governor's Debate
Her comments about personal rights regarding abortion and assisted suicide were astounding. All of them were basically, "I just want you to know, that all of these issues are personal matters, and I support everyone dealing with these personal issues in their own way...as long as the government says you can't do it."

Re: President George W. Bush Off Script
One of them was this one:

He had a lot of trouble with the cravat-tying activity. Fortunately, his buddy John McCain was around when they first came into vogue and helped him out.

Re: Bill O'Reilly Freaks out!
I'd love to see some footage of O'Reilly admonishing Hillary Clinton misleading people about coming under sniper fire in Bosnia juxtaposed with this video. That would be entertaining.

Re: Whitest Kids U Know: Time Travel
Probably my favorite live WKUK sketch. They need to adapt that for the TV show.

Re: 9 Year Old Beats Hardest Guitar Hero Song on Expert
How do you know that this game might not be the thing that gets him interested in learning to play guitar for real?
This is the only type of game I see these kinds of comments on, and it's rather perplexing. I never see comments about someone's Half-Life 2 game that read like, "Geesh, why don't you get a REAL crowbar and learn how to repel an ACTUAL alien occupation? Gosh!" Or, "Put the flight simulator game away, and go out and learn to fly a REAL Su-27. Loser!"

Re: ATHF: Unwatchable
IMHO, the TV show is a bit hit and miss. When it hits, it hits really well and I love it. When it misses, it's usually still not an entire waste of time with some redeeming value here and there to dig up. Its short run time helps both the good episodes and the "meh" episodes.
The movie, however, was absolutely horrible and one of the least funny supposed comedies I've ever seen, and it owes a large part of its terribleness to the fact that the writers, used to a twelve-minute show plus commercials, tried to stretch 12 minutes of a "miss" show into 90 and couldn't fill in much that was cohesive or funny.

Re: Is Europe a country?
It's one thing to not know the answer. I can understand someone not knowing the correct response or maybe getting the wrong country. Looking back on my education, an American contestant on an American game show probably didn't hear about Budapest too much when they were in school, as social studies classes tend to focus more on Western Europe. But it's another thing entirely to say something like, "OMG I thought Europe was a country," or "I don't think France is a country...is France a country?" Most people should have a basic understanding of what France is and what Europe is.

Re: Louis CK: Racism
Instead of being on a decently-maintained network such as YouTube where someone might not get to see the Comedy Central logo plastered all over the thing, Comedy Central would much rather have them on their servers, where no one can see them at all.

Re: New Light Bulbs in Plain English
When a local store was selling a 6-pack of fluorescent bulbs at a discount, I decided to pick it up and replace most of my incandescents, thinking I'll save energy and money. Well, those fluorescent bulbs are much more delicate upon installation, and one of them exploded in my hands while putting it in, slicing open my finger. It wouldn't stop pouring blood after an hour, so I ended up in the emergency room with stitches and a $1000 medical bill.
Fortunately insurance covered it all, but I had a good laugh at the idea that I might have spent $1000 to save a little bit on my energy bill.
I do notice the savings, though...I'd say the five remaining bulbs are saving me about 7-10 bucks a month on the bill alone.

Re: Atari Jaguar Commercials
I had a Jaguar and a Jaguar CD...while there were certainly some crap games for it, it had some good stuff too and I had a lot of fun with it. Doom, AVP, Wolfenstein, Hover Strike CD, Battle Morph...a lot of good games, regardless of whether or not it was truly 64-bit.
