Re: H2O Car - Water Powered Car
well said. even if the car was somehow using part of the energy leftover from running the car to break down more H2O... that would make this some kind of wacky perpetual motion machine... not to mention that if it's "using up" this water... what the heck is it expelling?

Re: God: Terrorist of Love
i think that the people who thank god for how awesome our nation has become belittle the accomplishments of science.

while i appreciate your stance that it's not the christian's job to "save people", believe me i REALLY appreciate that stance, right up to that point when you said "to tell them what Jesus did for them. and then allow God to do the rest." it's that kind of condescending attitude that earns even moderate christians like you so much flack from atheists like me. there's nothing wrong with being atheist. and there's nothing particularly wrong with people choosing other religions over your own, so don't prostletizing to them either, and yes, telling them about jesus, is prostletizing. and yes, it is irritating and unnecissary, even in your "benign" form. so GO! be nice, be kind, and take a page from that book of yours and keep your private religious belief private, nobody wants to hear them, except maybe your other christian buddies, but that really is "preaching to the choir" isn't it? =p

Re: Middle Sexes: Experiment on Homophobia
perhaps... but it was a "significant number" and while it's possible that all of the homophobes don't masturbate.... i just don't buy it. saying men don't masturbate is like saying women don't fart. oh, they may deny it... but eventually....

Re: Atheist Debate: Should We Rid the Mind of God?
i disagree, religion itself actually stands for very bad things, which people, religious and otherwise, simply choose to ignore... or sometimes not! but the point i'd like to make is that only people can ultimately stand for good things, the only thing religion "stands for" is this faith based method of non-thinking.

Re: Atheist Debate: Should We Rid the Mind of God?
you could also look at occam's razor

purposing that reality is not as we percieve it, that our senses are being lied to is akin to suggesting that we're all just brains in a box or some such thing. which, while not impossible, we've been given, and this is important now, NO REASON TO BELIEVE. and therefore the simpler explanation that reality is exactly as we percieve it, is more credible.

Re: The Watchmaker
they're STILL using the watchmaker argument?

your logic's fallacious,

to say such a thing

all things need a designer

what evidence do you bring?

a watch has a watchmaker

how obviously true

you can see him

you can touch him

have a watch made for you

but who made the watchmaker?

god you may say

but how can you know this?

you can't see him today

if everything in creation

has need of a creator

then how do you explain,

who made the maker?

Re: Ben Stein on O'Reilly Factor about Intelligent Design
you're right, ben stein has a point when he says that evolution doesn't really explain how life occurred in the first place. that's not really what evolution deals with, it assumes that you have life, and an environment, and through natural selection, life will adapt itself to that environment.

however. when he postulates that ID deserves credence merely on the basis of there being "no other theory" he's very misinformed. there's a lovely field of science called "abiogenesis" which deals with how you get life from non-living matter. and god yet again, doesn't show his face.

Re: Why Do People Laugh at Creationists? Ep. 7
pretty good video as usual, i don't mean to nitpick tho, but was the "this is not a pressurized tank" deal neccesary? i mean, i don't know much about fish tanks, why isn't that a pressurized tank? and so what if it isn't, couldn't the fish have been raised in one and then simply moved to a regular tank for display purposes?

it's kind of a small issue i suppose, the main points of the video are still valid reguardless. just thought i'd point that little thing out.
