Re: Twilight Zone: Time Enough At Last (1/3)
Thank you, spam_vigilante. This was the one episode of TZ that I had been searching for the most diligently. I was surprised to find it hadn't been submitted to m&c before.
And double applause to jaxon for the full version.

Re: Decompiled Secrets! (addendum)
I just completed a game using all Nature Towers, and scored 83. There is no way I would've made it even to level 70 without continually building those full-power Nature Towers, so I still think a maxed out Flower Tower is not practical.
I am wondering if the author made it to level 90 using a previous version of the game.

Decompiled Secrets! (addendum)
Shots from a Tower are not always at full strength. They are randomly generated from 70%-100%.
Why do Towers sometimes disappear? Because the layer depth of the Tower sprite is calculated by adding the X and Y position of the mouse. No two sprites can share a layer depth. Therefore, if something is already there, it gets replaced. So do not place your towers diagonally above and to the right or diagonally below and to the left of each other. It is unlikely to happen, but when it does, it can make or break reaching that extra level.

Decompiled Secrets!
I used a Flash Decompiler to check out the source code of this game. There are quite a few bugs and misinformation contained within.
The health of each monster starts at 5 HP. It does NOT go up by 25% each stage. It is calculated by the formula: HP = HP*1.1+WAVE#*8.6
In other words, the health goes up by 10%, and then 8.6 times the wave number is added on top of that. It compounds each wave. So, early on, the HP increase is dramatic. By the time you get to wave 30, the HP of the monsters is only increasing by about 12%, and it levels off to about a 10% increase by level 50.
The Nature (leaf) Towers show incorrect Damage values on the upgrade button. However, at the final upgrade, the Damage value of 9000 is indeed correct.
The Flower Tower only costs 2000 gold to build. However, you must have 3000 in the bank to buy it. Horrible bug.
The amount of money each monster gives does not go up by 1 each wave. It is calculated by the formula: I (income) = I*0.02 + Wave#*1.1.
In other words, income is dropped to 2 percent of its original value, then is increased by 1.1 times the wave number. It is then rounded off.
A better way to say this: Monsters give you 1 more gold per wave each, except approximately every 8th wave, where their values go up by 2 each.
Useful bug: Bullets fired at 0, 90, 180, and 270 degree angles instantly hit their target. Placing towers at the ends of paths gives best efficiency.
To upgrade a Flower Tower to max level, it costs a total of 22,000 gold. If you bought nothing and made no upgrades, you would have 22,000 gold at wave 70. It does not seem possible or feasable to try for this upgrade.
The Range value is not a circular area, it's square. It's quicker for Flash to calculate, but not accurate. This gives the player an advantage.
The Fire Tower seems to be the most inefficient. At 2298 gold, it has 7021 damage and a short 120 range. Water has the best range at max upgrade, with a cost of 3360 gold, 7335 damage, 300 range. Nature costs 2375, has most damage at 9000, and range of 215.
The size of your towers are approx 30x30 pixels. This can help you figure out what the Range values actually mean.
Bug: If a weak monster reaches the castle, it will seem to still be weak when it spawns again. It is actually at full strength, and the first shot on it will display it correctly.
Hopefully this information will help you figure out some good strategies. Good luck!

Re: Male Restroom Etiquette
No communication in the restroom?
Hallelujah! Say it again!
There is nothing more awkward than a guy walking into the restroom to do number 1, or even number 2... and he's talking on a cell phone.
Even more awkward would be if the person on the other end heard something... unpleasant.

Re: Jackass: Golf Course Air Horn
I'm all for a good joke and fun, but this is just asinine.
A quick check at imdb reveals that Johnny Knoxville is 35 years old.
35!
To see anyone that age acting so blatently immature, AND being rewarded for it, is a sad, sad commentary on pop culture and America.
When Steve Irwin (Crocodile Hunter) died, it was almost expected to happen... being around dangerous animals all the time, it seemed inevitable. At least what he did in life had a purpose.
When Knoxville, Bam, Steve-O or one of their ilk gets killed by taunting animals, or get their asses kicked to the point where they are unrecognizable, it too will be expected... but without any redeeming value or purpose.
One day they will all be forgotten, and another crop of freaks will be the next punching bag. There's always something and someone to complain about... from Elvis Presley's swinging hips to the lyrics of Louie Louie... Marilyn Manson to Tom Cruise... Jackass will be replaced one day as well.
Ok, rant's done!
p.s. Hey you kids, get off my lawn! See this baseball? Huh? I'm keeping it! I told you little punks! No good whippersnappers.

Re: Fracture
This reminds me of that game you can download on Xbox, "Geometry Wars". Simple graphics, nifty effects, lots of action. Thumbs up!

Re: The State Pudding
This has nothing to do with SNL.
This is from an MTV show called "The State", and the skit is about pudding.
Didn't they also have a skit where the trunk of a car was filled with $240 worth of pudding?

Re: Time Pilot
Very slow, very little challenge.
It is also missing the stage after 1982 A.D., which has UFOs as the enemy spaceships.
Agreed, this is not nearly as good as the original, which was (and still is) kickass.

Re: Gems - Wild Tiles
Maybe you didn't understand the concept. That's the way slot machines work. You don't win all the time.

I saw this episode, it aired in early February 2007 or so. It was "Teen Best Friends" week (that's why there are teams of 2). I have absolutely no explaination as to how they screwed this up. The "I" had been guessed earlier, so when Pat Sajak says "There are only vowels left", the only possible thing that could go in each blank was an "O". Pressures of being on TV, maybe?
