The character knew Sicily was conquered on one occasion by an invader. Did the character know Sicily was conquered by others; like the Greeks and Persians and Macadonians and Spanish and English on other occasions, some more then once. Germans spent sometime their too. Probably some I left out.
Was the character smart enough to use one small piece of trivia to get what he wanted?
I think he was and not just a racebaiter.
