Re: Christopher Walken Reads Goodnight Moon
Yeah, Walken's voice doesn't crack. Disappointing.

Re: Richard Pryor vs Hostile Audience
Pryor didn't really fight back, he just let them add to the humor. That's the problem with too many stand-up comics. They become so obsessed with fighting with the idiots, they become idiots themselves. Joe Rogan is the worst about that shit. Either end it swiftly like Carlin, or be casual like Pryor. You can't sit and volley insults for your entire set.

Re: David Letterman: Kid Scientists and the Glowing Foam
Mr. Wizard, he ain't. I wanted to see the other kids in action. She seemed very smart, so I'd imagine all three of them knew their stuff.

Re: Don Rickles Breaks Johnny Carson's Box
Off-colour? I'd say they were very much on-colour.

Funny how 35 years later, it's more "too soon" than it was back then.

Re: How Did Adam & Eve's Kids Have Kids?
I. . . didn't really derive all THAT from his answer, but it was cool that he didn't get all pissy.

Re: Nick at Nite Animated Promos
Being the nostalgia buff I am, I wanna cry watching these. Only two I don't remember: The rodeo and Adam and Eve ones. The rest, I can just hear Bob Newhart or I Love Lucy playing immediately after.

Re: Sotomayor and the Southern Strategy
Never has "What do YOU mean what do you mean 'you people'?" ever been more apt than right now. This guy makes an ass of himself by acting offended over these remarks. I'll admit, the Ricky Ricardo thing was a bit unnecessary. The other things were just pure overreaction.

What he said. That was awful.

Re: Family Guy: Everything I Do
God, Family Guy is just to a place for Seth MacFarland to show off these days. We get it. You can carry a tune. Can you at least TRY to be funny?

Re: Victoria Jackson Steals the Show (Hannity)
She's still fucking adorable.

And apparently, the female Colbert. Only not as blatantly obvious.

Re: The Quest for G
Fuck that, that was horrible. It had so much promise, but they just made it incredibly embarrassing to watch, especially as a huge fan of MPatHG.

Re: Invasion Of The Bunny Snatchers
Why'd they cut the Yosamite Sam portions out? You could plainly hear him in the bag at the end.

Re: SNL Digital Short Orchestral Doogie Howser
There may be some truth to 2, but not in my case. I watched reruns on Comedy Central, and found the early-to-mid 90's cast to be funnier than the mid-90's/early-00's one. It was an unbiased opinion. I guess it could be said that every SNL cast member is a one-trick pony unless they came out of the original cast. This can be said for any of your favorite cast members. Everyone on SNL has their role.

Mike Myers was to either play the straight man in random sketches or be Wayne. That varklemp woman was cute the first time, but lost steam after that.

Adam Sandler was to be the timid character in EVERY FUCKING SKETCH.

Chris Farley threw his weight around. Literally.

David Spade was a C-Class smartass.

Dana Carvey required makeup to be funny.

Jon Lovitz was either the ugly guy or a thespian.

Phil Hartman went from straight man to B-Class Smartass.

Every woman in the early 90's was there to be a woman in the cast.

Kevin Nealon was an A-Class Smartass.

I could go on, but I don't really need to. Everyone on SNL has a role. No matter how multi-talented they may seem, they are one-trick ponies. SNL is still better than MadTV.

Re: Peabody's Improbable History: Pancho Villa
Did you ever watch the other episodes of this? Because if you had, you'd be well aware that they always portray the historical figures as morons.

As for the beans diatribe, jumping beans were used as humor in way more than Mexican stereotypes back in the day. I can't remember how many AMERICAN-BASED characters ate jumping beans in old cartoons for whatever reasons. And like it or not, in poverty-stricken Mexico, circa 1900s, I would just hazard a guess that beans and rice pretty much WERE a large part of their diet. Admittedly, a lot of old cartoons did make blatant racial slurs. But this was after the worst of it. And to be quite honest, Rocky & Bullwinkle was one of my favorite shows growing up, so it pisses me off that people would get so bent out of shape over something that was intended as a laugh and not an insult. Hell, several Hispanics comprised the opposition to ban Speedy Gonzales cartoons, and those things were horribly racist.

From now on, I'm using "he who smelt it" logic on people who call racism on stupid shit. No one else saw the racism except the person trying to prove by any means necessary that he's not racist. Ass.

Erm, not "embellished". A better word would be "exaggerated".
