According to ChinaSmack, a man wielding a large, machete-like knife rushed the campus of China's Guizhou Normal University on July 2, allegedly headed toward the cafeteria. Several security guards tried to stop him, but were cut down in the process. The man, described by police as mentally ill, stabbed and killed two guards with a 27-inch steel blade and seriously injured a third. In footage captured by a bystander's camera phone, the suspect can be seen attacking and stabbing a guard. As he turns away from his victim, a man dashes onto the scene and delivers a powerful flying kick to the suspect's back, knocking him over. The video has been viewed more than 2.7 million times after it was posted to the Chinese video-sharing site Youku. The man who delivered the kick, whose name reportedly is Zhang Huaiqian, has been nicknamed "Flying Kick Brother" by social media users and the Chinese press. Zhang can be seen in the car's side view mirror, waiting for the right moment to act. "He wanted to beat me but he had to pick up his knife first. I felt that he was hesitating and I gave him a second kick," Zhang told China Daily. A gang of security personnel and bystanders mobbed the suspect after he was taken down. The group then proceeded to punch, kick and beat him into submission with various objects before he was later arrested. The security guard stabbed by the knife-wielding man can be seen in the video clutching his wound as the commotion subsides. Another person, who appears to be a guard, is seen lying motionless on the sidewalk late in the video. Traffic lieutenant Nguyen Manh Phan pulled over Phung Hong Phuong, 37, in Hanoi on Monday for driving on the wrong side of the road, VN Express reported. Phuong refused to produce his papers and rushed back to the bus, prompting the officer to jump onto the front in an attempt to stop him. Video shot by one of Phan's fellow police officers shows the officer trying to get his footing and dangling precariously from the moving bus as oncoming traffic whizzes past. At one point the bus was travelling at 50 kmph (31mph). Phan could be heard shouting: "Call the police!" The driver, who was released in 2010 after serving nearly four years in prison for a fatal traffic accident, eventually pulled over after being chased by police and villagers. In Cairo, thousands of protesters took on the police in front of the hated Interior Ministry, blamed for being responsible for the deaths of 74 people killed when a major soccer match erupted in violence on Wednesday. Protesters threw rocks at police, who fired back with tear gas, buckshot and rubber bullets. More than two thousand have been injured and nine killed in two days of fighting, according to the Health Ministry. The violence took place one block from the now infamous Mohamed Mahmoud Street, where similar street battles took place less than three months ago. Then, thousands were injured and 40 people were killed by security forces, many by asphyxiation from tear gas. The Military Council installed a new cabinet, and the new Interior Minister vowed not to use tear gas on protesters again. That promise was not kept. But protesters have proven more resilient than ever, tearing down an enormous concrete block wall erected by the military after the Mohamed Mahmoud battle, and occupying a government tax building. Withstanding a steady barrage of tear gas and buckshot, the protesters continued fighting throughout the day.
