Countdown A Roald Dahl-like fable about an ill fated professional pianist who comes down with a unique affliction: he is losing the use of his fingers. Over the last four years she has directed eight short films and a number of music videos. In 2006 she was chosen for the Corus Young Filmmakers Initiative for her film, Here on In. Next she scaled back to create The House Series, a trilogy of shorts produced with no budget and each filmed in a different room of her home. Last year, Bedroom screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and was awarded Best Atlantic Short at the Atlantic Film Festival. Her most recent short, Countdown, is an NSI Drama Prize. The visually stunning film centers on an unusual photograph dating back to the 1930s. An investigation of its particulars reveals a tapestry of secrets hidden in the details, and a tale of kidnapping and murder captured in a haunting moment. Rodrigo Gudi?o was born in San Diego California, raised in Playas de Tijuana, Mexico; later in Mississauga, Canada. Graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Literary Studies and Philosophy and did a three year stint as music and news editor of RPM Weekly, once the Canadian equivalent of Billboard. Later still, became bored with the music industry and in 1997 launched RUE MORGUE, an independent magazine focusing on horror in culture and entertainment. In 2006 Gudi?o wrote and directed his first film, THE EYES OF EDWARD JAMES, which became an Official Selection of the 2006 Toronto International Film Festival and continues to tour worldwide. His second film, THE DEMONOLOGY OF DESIRE premiered at the prestigious 2007 Worldwide Short Film Festival. His third short, THE FACTS IN THE CASE OF MISTER HOLLOW which he co-directed with Vincent Marcone, was a 2009 Genie Award nominee. Director: David O'Neill Running Time: 1154 Country: U.K. Category: Drama Fifteen-year-old Homer violently attacks a shopkeeper, Pardip. The attack appears racially motivated. Since this is not the first such incident, Homer is about to have an electronic tag fitted. He and his dope-smoking grandfather have a bet. An official arrives to affix the tag, but Homer has a clever plan to avoid the polices attention. He also has the perfect alibi for his final showdown with Pardip. David ONeill is an experienced TV documentary director. He has made a range of authored work with subjects ranging from Fathers for Justice and Amsterdam's sex industry for Channel 4, to Londons tower block drug dealers for the BBC. Born in 1975 in Finland, Teemu Nikki has been working in film for the past decade. In 1998 and 1999 he worked as assistant cameraman on several films including The Bridge to Lelle (V?gen till Lelle), The Real McCoy and Fire Eater (Tulennielij?). He also worked as an electric on History is Made at Night (Historiaa tehd??n ?isin) and A Northern Boy (Lapinpoika). Between 2000 and 2006, he worked on a wide variety of music videos and TV commercials. His first short was The Opportunist (Menestyj?) in 2006, which won the Youth Jury Prize at the Tampere International Short Film Festival in Finland. A Mate (Kaveri) followed in 2007 and won the Special Jury Award at the Seattle International Film Festival. His latest short is entitled Legacy (Perint?).
