The show had 3 concepts, the iPod(U2 song), the Cell Phone(famous ringtone melodies), and YouTube. Obama Government Controlled Radio http://www.airamerica.com The Daily Swarm is reporting an exclusive story: there is apparently now a radio station in Athens, Georgia that has adopted an all-Obama format. According to the Web site, the station (WPUP, 101.1 FM) recently switched over from having a rock playlist to programming a mix of (President Barack) Obamas IPOD, Hawaiian music and clips from the Presidents speeches. No, theyre not kidding. The question now is what is the stations rationale? Satire? Tribute? Well, a vice president at Cox Radio, which owns the station, let on to the Daily Swarm that it's not exactly a sincere tribute to the commander-in-chief. But like anything political these days, its gotten people fired up. When the Daily Swarm called the stations receptionist, she complained about all the mean people that were phoning in. Spinning Vinyl iPod App

Spinning Vinyl iPod App A quick app put together as a response to Todd Vanderlin's AR scratching ( http://vimeo.com/4312616 ). The app uses the accelerometer of the ipod touch to control the speed of a 'vinyl record' on the ipod screen. Slowing down the record and speeding it up is just a matter of controlling how fast you spin the device. Next up scratching! Track is Full Clip by Gang Starr. Note: It only really works on the ipod touch 2nd gen as the case design is perfect for spinning on smooth surfaces. Might have to make a little spinning attachment for all the other ipod/iphone djs :) Thanks to Zach Gage's excellent ofxALSoundPlayer class! Mazda RX-8 Controlled from an iPod Touch This iPhone controlled Mazda RX-8 by Jonathan Oxer takes the cake. Using a wi-fi connected iPhone the user can connect to a computer in the car which is connected to the Net using a separate internet connection. With this setup the user can now open doors, start the engine, monitor all of the car stats such as RPM, temperature, fuel tank, and if that isn’t enough you can even see where the car is on a Google map. The car’s webserver provides a password-protected web interface optimised for full-screen display on an iPod Touch or iPhone running the SOPOD full-screen browser. The web interface has three screens: 1) Control, which provides a top-down view of the car with buttons for start, stop, lock, unlock, accessory power, and boot release; 2) Telemetry, which displays real-time data acquired from the engine management system such as RPM, vehicle speed, coolant temperature, throttle position, etc; and 3) Location, which uses a Google Maps mashup to display the current location of the vehicle on a map using current GPS data.
