There's a new episode of The Real World (MTV, 10), but tonight's TV isn't all post-college frat boy sleaze. There's more than just the mind-numbing Wipeout (ABC, 8) and I Survived a Japanese Game Show (ABC, 9). You have options. And believe it or not, they don't include people auditioning on a stage, or competing for money. These may sound boring to you, but they might--at the very least--spark some interest or random curiosity: Time Team America (PBS, 8)... Scientists hunt through evidence to decipher the fate of the Roanoke colonists. The Conscience of Nhem En (HBO2, 8) ... An Academy Award nominated doc about a young soldier who had photographed political prisoners in Cambodia. The Ascent of Money (PBS, 9)... Part 1 of new series on the history of money and finance. Monsters Inside Me (AnimalPlanet, 9)... Germaphobes beware, this show tells stories about organisms causing outbreaks. True Hollywood Story (E!, 10)... The lives of pro-baseball players' wives are revealed. I'm a Major League Eater (BIO, 10)... This special uncovers the competitive world of professional eating contests. ...Nothing? Oh, well. Can't say I didn't try: So You Think You Can Dance (FOX, 8) (2-Hour New Episode) Americas Got Talent (NBC, 9) Ghost Hunters International (SyFy, 9) *Season Premiere* Top Chef Masters (Bravo, 10) The Philanthropist (NBC , 10) Reno 911 (Comedy Central, 10:30) *Season Finale* Jul 8, 2009 1:06 PM

Simple answer is: no, not really. Judging on what I saw last night on the premier of America's Got Talent, 9 times out of 10 we've got nothing. The first round of auditions brought us to New York, Chicago, and Seattle. The two sibling singing groups, Voices of Glory and the Eriam Sisters, were relatively impressive and definitely had inspiring stories to tell. Other than that, here's some of the "talent" they showcased: -an Obama impersonator who sang James Brown (B+ for looking Presidential, C- for not keeping up the act) -a guy who can put a drill through his nose (zzz, like that hasn't been done before) -an owner and his hyper dog who can jump really high to catch frisbees (I admit this was awesome, but clearly the dog is the only one with talent) -a David Hasselhoff super fan with an acoustic guitar (loving the Hoff isn't a talent; it's a given) No Susan Boyle equivalent in sight yet, but we've got all season. For tonight's episode, the show is hitting up Houston, Miami, and Los Angeles to scout out the best of what America has to offer and so far the bar is pretty low. on TV tonight: Im a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here (NBC, 8) Season Finale...Go Lou Diamond!
