A hideously designed Web site, Milkandcookies.com, offers a newly discovered video clip of David Bradley explaining during a 2001 panel discussion how he invented the Control-Alt-Delete function - the last option for victims of crashed computers. "I may have invented it," Mr. Bradley, then a computer engineer for I.B.M., says. "But Bill made it famous." Bill Gates, the Microsoft chairman, is on the stage, looking less than happy about the observation, causing Mr. Bradley to backpedal furiously.
