This is a stage character created by Aziz Ansari that will be appearing in the movie Funny People. It's sort of a culmination of the worst comedian's out there who rely on low brow material and jumping around like an idiot. Here's an interview that explains it.

Before reading this comment I watched about 10 secs of this clip and was thinking this is trash... After reading this I completely loved it. I want more Randy!!

Yeah, thanks guys. I get it. It's a mockumentary. Even if that wasn't laid out in the description, I would have gotten that.
No, my point was that if this wasn't a promotional featurette for a major movie, would anyone have watched more than two minutes of this crap? I understand, it feels really nice to be included in on an inside joke. But besides the Emperor's new clothes effect of being able to say 'only fools don't get it,' does this stand on its own as an entertaining piece, let alone as "hilarious?"
And really, you found this to be hilarious? You reacted with boisterous merriment or laughter? Or do you just like feeling in on this, and have to use a little hyperbole to show that you REALLY like the emperor's new threads, thus showing that you're REALLY smart?
Again: does this stand on its own as being so entertaining, informative, or funny that it deserves to be highlighted among the best of what people submit to this website? Or is this pretty bare when you stop worrying about being in with everyone else?

Well, I can only speak for myself... and I do love acceptance and I am prone to fits of hyperbole... awesome... but I did find this clip entertaining as a freestanding piece of art... I chuckled quite a bit.
There's enough Noam Chomsky posted on the M&C site to keep the truly enlightened away from this lowbrow tripe and the aging pseudointellectual scenesters that love it so. So please, scram kid and let me laugh in peace.

It's funny... IF you know and keep in mind that this whole thing is actually a satire of shitty comedians.
It's like Spinal Tap. If you watch it and think they're serious and for real, you'll hate it - as you should. If you get that the while thing is just mocking pathetically horrible bands then you'll get a kick out of it.
The people watching Ra...ndy are the real spectacle. Meatheaded dipshits just drinking it all in just because the guy is on stage. So, it's just like a Dane Cook show... except Dane isn't pretending.
