David Blaine Rips His Heart Out
David Blaine performed such a horrific, gory illusion at a taping of Carson Daly's late-night show, NBC was considering canceling the segment.
"Oh God, it was so gross - David pulled his beating heart out of his chest, put it back in, and then collapsed," said one spy at the taping.
"He had to be carried off the stage by some helpers.
Some girls in the audience ran out crying and screaming, while Carson just stood there stunned and they blacked out the stage."

He is lame... A well thought out magic trick should be simple and delicate. His is just silly and over the top.
I dunno if he's a 'good' magician, but now I'm realizing that in order to be a 'famous' magician now a days, one would need to be an actor as well.

A well thought out magic trick should be simple and delicate. His is just silly and over the top.
yeah, making private jets and tigers dissapear is real simple and delicate >>
his magic is mainly for shock value, and you have to admit he get's the reactions that he intended. There's a good amount of things he does that seems a little beyond hocus pocus, but hten again i'm no magician so i prolly wouldn't be able to tell whether or not it was a good trick in comparison to others.

actually for that effect hes using a dove harness (nornally used to pruduce doves, in this case, a heart) which fits under the arm.

I believe he started as a radio DJ in Cali, got pickup by mtv, then started his own 2nd rate late night show after he had enough of a teenage fanbase to succeed. :P~~

Blaine got this trick from the Phillipines. I forgot the indigenous name of it but in the westerners call it Psychic Surgery. People of the phillipines are very poor and often cannot afford real surgery. Cmon all magicians are original in their own way. Blaine is one of the new breed of magicians with simple tricks for awesome responses and amusement. Thats what people like!
