Re: Bush's War
It's a fantastic four hours! Well, it's a fantastic documentary. The subject matter had me shaking my head a lot. It's as though Bush's entire cabinet fell out of the gross-mismanagement tree and hit every branch on the way down! It won't be their blood that's spilled, though. I think we should pass a law that whatever president wants to take us to war: has to go in and fight alongside the troops. No more hiding in ivory towers.

They left out alot of stuff, like the Plame scandal to name one, but it is a decent documentary in my view. It's obviously set up to try to not add discredit to any individual because it's PBS, and has a far different tone than most of the documentaries that I've seen on the subject. I was surprised that they were able to get interviews with all of the players that they did.

Re: Bush's War
The quality of this Frontline episode is nearly flawless. I believe that the narrative as delineated so far in this documentary is damn close to how historians will regard it from now onward.
Not only is the tone clear and objective (Condoleeza Rice has gone down a notch or two in my personal repugnance scale, as Rumsfeld has gone up an equal amount of notches), the content is repugnant and compelling at the same time, not an easy feat to pull off.
I knew that many of these people were deluded, lying, incompetent fools, I had no idea just how petty and backstabbing they were even among each other. Case in point, their treatment of Collin Powell, time and time again.
The Valerie Plame affair, the Iraq contractors such as Halliburton and both the Iran and Pakistan issues are beasts better left to other comprehensive studies, which I truly hope will be handled by PBS Frontline, too, in the near future. I'll be watching.
