Famed Japanese jazz pianist Yosuke Yamashita has expressed his burning passion for music by setting his piano on fire at a beach.

A mic wouldn't last near those flames long enough to warrant burning it, and outdoors it's particularly difficult to record acoustic instruments (they rely heavily on the reverberation of the walls of the room, or building they are in. So all there is from this performance is a poor long range recording.
The burning was done for visual and conceptual reasons.
