This is one of four fairy tales master animator Ray Harryhausen made between 1949 and 1953 by hand, using stop-motion photography perfected as an apprentice under mentor Willis H. O'Brien of "King Kong" fame.

Oh, they left out some stuff. For example (and I'm not kidding), Rapunzel and the Prince had sexual intercourse in the tower. Later (I guess nine months or thereabouts), in the desert, Rapunzel gave birth to the Prince's children, a boy and a girl.
