Re: Awareness Test
This is originally a real psychological experiment. The ad is so similar that the professor, I heard, is considering to sue.

Re: Awareness Test
I've heard of the original experiment. But personally I think this ad is a big bogus because the bear costume looks really similar to the black uniforms and doesn't look very "bearish" at all. I remember seeing what I thought was one of the black costume guys walking in at an unusually slow pace, but I didn't think anything of it.

Re: Awareness Test
up until now and maybe this comment is included, but every response to this video so far has been clearly written by a retarded person. There is no other explanation.

Re: Awareness Test
That's beside the point. The PSA is overextending the validity of the findings of the original experiment. The entire demonstration can function only as fancy rhetoric asking drivers to be more generally aware of their surroundings. They've just whored out research is all.
What's more, cyclists move similarly to cars, and are required to do so by law, so it would be hard not to notice them. It would be like missing a motorcyclist who more often than not gets their own special lane all to themselves. For this experiment to apply, I would have to miss the bear even after it had begun participating in the ball-passing.
Moreover, fuck cyclists. Not all of them, but just the douchey ones. If they rode responsibly, singe file, well within the bike lanes, obeyed the same traffic laws as the cars they share roads with, or otherwise changed their routes to less trafficked roads or ones with bike lanes, they wouldn't have a problem. Many cyclists, however, voluntarily fail to do at least one of these things. So screw this stupid PSA and screw reckless cyclists.

Re: Awareness Test
And it should be noted nearly 60% of participants did not indicate seeing anything out of the ordinary while counting the number of passes (aerial or ground and black or white conditions).

Re: Awareness Test
i think those guys are the best basketball players ever!... maybe it was because i already now what to look for but it seemed like the gorilla in the actual experiment videos was a little more obvious
