USDA inspection? What's that? Mister Bush did his best to make it so that we don't need to pay for needless salaries. And of course, he managed to do this while slashing both the budget and the tax bill for his best good buddies.

Instead of complaining about the situation, give us a solution.

Re: Mark Fiore: Doreen The Downer
The best "solution" that I can come up with this -- avoid eating cheap meat.
I don't eat fast food anymore and when I buy steak, I always get the good cuts.
No, I cannot be certain that I never eat meat from processing factories nor can I know how the animals are killed. I just assume that meat packages with labels like 'organic' and 'grade-A', and accompanied by a higher price, are more likely to come from farms with ethical practices.
Yes, my assumption may be off. The truth could actually be that the ideal health choice is to not eat any meat. Should that be proven scientific fact, I'll start eating vegans.
For now, I doubt my eating habits will ever change much. Convenience is too important in my day; don't have the time to piss around raising my own fucking cattle. I live in a technological world and I'm quite happy with the lifestyle it offers me (to an extent).
So, anyway... I think the current US Beef production laws are way out of control and downright sickening. However, what can a person do to make other people stop eating shitty meat? What can be done to make lobbyists and big money stop? Is this the only way to supply a beef hungry nation?
Ya know, I respect the person who makes an effort to help get government on the right side of this issue. It's not something I have time or enough interest in. Though I care about the treatment of the animals, I honestly don't much care what crap ignorant people are putting into their fat bloated bodies. Common, the facts are not hard to find these days. Ya have to be under a rock not to catch wind of some reasonable justification for questioning the quality of the food you eat. I mean, everyone knows junk food is bad for you, so eat at yer own risk.
