The original opening from "Escape From New York" which features Snake and his partner Taylor robbing the Federal Reserve Depository, ultimately getting caught. From there, Snake is sentenced to New York and the rest is history.

Oddly enough, the notion of Snake trusting someone wasn't the determing factor in the cut. John Carpenter states, "After we screened the rough cut, we realized that the movie didn't really start until Snake got to New York. It wasn't necessary to show what sent him there."
