This was actually kind-of funny. Sign of the times, eh?

Re: Grown Man Cries over Not Having His Blackberry
Granted, part of his emotion was due to not having his communication technology in general. But on the other hand, part of the reason why he was crying was because he was scared of not being in contact with his daughter, and he feels like he's all she has, so it was kind of sweet.
And to also be fair, there are a lot of things you can do with email today that at one time you couldn't do, and you are expected to do them.
This guy was definitely a good sport to go along with this and allow himself to be seen crying.

These are the tools of his trade. Ask him to not touch them when he is off work, i bet he could do it. But asking him to perform his job with out them is cruel and not a representation of his reliance of them. It is like asking a Carpenter to build a house with out power tools, and to keep up with his peers who are.

Gr8 fnd Grf. ;-)
Only 91 emails missed starting day 2? This guy isn't quite so dependent on his technology as he thought he was.
This past week, I was working from BlackBerry as I tried to resuscitate a crappy company-supplied Lenovo STINKpad. I feel for him.
