Bush wears a smile on his face as he tries to justify water boarding with Chris Wallace on his other home (FOX News) by saying that since they didn't have any laws in place against water boarding at the time—it was perfectly fine and dandy and legal to apply it. Did he just admit torture was illegal then? What’s done is done and all that. It’s Sunday after all—let bygones be bygone.

Jesus Christ, this is fucking scary. Good thing he is out in a year. Not only does he not mention international conventions by which torture indeed was illegal... _also_ back then, but terms like 'all human beings are equal' and 'innocent until proven otherwise' seem to be part of a foreign dictionary for this guy.

You got Abu Zabeda, one of the worlds most notorious terrorists and mass murderers in custody. You intercepted satellite phone calls, just days earlier, with Mr. Zabeda speaking to another notorious terrorist using coded language to give details about an imminent terrorist attack somewhere in North Africa about to go down sometime in the near future. Alright. You can believe that if you wan't. You can believe the Bush administration blew up the world trade centers, or that a secret cabal of Jews control the world's economy, or whatever else helps you make sense of the world.
Khalid Shaeik Mohammad is a patsy. He had no knowledge of any terrorist attacks planned for our National Guards Barracks in Eritrea in 2002. He had nothing to do with 9/11, in fact his whole identity is made up. He doesn't even exist.
There are no Islamic extremists with imperialist ambitions of their own. Only white people or Jews can do anything intrinsically evil. This is a fact because the Spam Vigilante believes it so.
If it doesn't fit the paradigm that exotic brown-skinned third worlders are perpetual victims of capitalist white people or Jews, then there is no possibility of it being real.

Call me crazy, but I think you've got this backwards. With his 24 reference, wasn't he insinuating that you were the one with fanciful ideas about how counter-terrorism works. I believe that he was implying that these "interrogations" are rarely as time-sensitive and dramatic as you think.
It's a moot point though, as none of us actually knows what happens behind the CIA's closed doors. Go ahead and speculate, but at least try to be nice.
