I'm a historian and whenever you make a historical claim, you have to cite some legitimate source to back up your claim. You can't just say Washington was a great president you have to justify why you think that. I think the same thing should happen with voting. You don't just go in the booth by yourself, you should have to justify why you are voting for that person. If you can't think of a better reason than "I'd really like to see a woman president." or something along those lines then your vote won't count.

a weighted system would be immensely difficult to put into practice. it would also go against that whole 3/5ths rule that was stopped way back when.
i am okay with the simple notion that if someone takes the small effort to go out and vote, their opinion is then valid.

I gotta say, this is something so retarded I don't feel like a judge could have made this mistake. I'd cry foul play but at the same time, the guy misled a handful of voters. Only possible explanation? The judge is completely Schiavoed.
