Rudy Giuliani Abandons 9/11 Heroes
9/11 first responders have not only criticized Giuliani for failing to provide them with proper radios, but also for ditching body-recovery efforts only 24 hours after recovering tens of millions of dollars in gold and for misleading them about the air quality at Ground Zero.

The REAL heroes of 9-11 sacrificed everything for their country. Rudy Giuliani has abandoned them.

It's a very good thing there happens to be a medium called the Internet. If not, that Rudy would've been a major contender for President still, I think. Bye bye, Rudy. You and Bush Monkey might have vied for Worst President Ever.

Trust me, I have kept a close eye on Rudy since his first campaign as mayor. He's as dirty as they come. His record of fighting organized crime as a Fed prosecutor looks great on the surface until you realize that he was fighting one family only to the apparent benefit of another and to the detriment of several.

Here's an idea: If somebody asks you to sift through the pulverized wreckage of a 1960's skyscraper...You say "No."

If somebody asks you to degrade people who put their lives at risk to save the the lives of others during the tragic events of 9/11, then just say NO.

Brave New Films loves to spread hate do they

I e-mailed my mom that video and here's whay she have to say

"It was not very long after 9/11 that Rudy Giuliani's time as Mayor was over. Mayor Bloomberg then took over. On 9/11 and in the period shortly afterward, no one really understood the danger that was in the air at ground zero, and most of the "first responders" were looking frantically for lost loved ones. If Rudy Giuliani (or anyone else for that matter) had told them that it was too dangerous for them to continue, they would have revolted.

When Mayor Bloomberg took over the City of NY, he took over all of the problems of the city of New York. That includes the continuing efforts surrounding the World Trade Center and the question of compensating those who later got sick as a result of their work there.

Would a similar situation be handled differently today? Most certainly. But 9/11 was unprecidented. Nothing like it had ever happened before. Noone knew what to expect, noone knew exactly what to do. Rudy Giuliani was such a brilliant leader, and handled the event with such steadiness and calmness that the world looking in at NY totally believed that everything was under control and everything would be alright. The truth is, Rudy was just doing the best he could to handle the situation on a day to day basis, relying on the advice of whatever experts were available.

I don't know anyone in New York - the citizens, I mean - who would want to deny the 9/11 responders their health care. Current voters making their voices heard in the current local government in New York should have more power than a past Mayor, don't you think? Should the federal government help NY to cover those costs? I think that the government agency the EPA (the environmental protection agency) which advised Rudy Giuliani and the first responders about the level of air safety at ground zero does owe NY something for underestimating the dangers there - dangers that have cost many their health, and some their lives.

But these are problems of NOW and FUTURE. A Mayor from the PAST can not be held responsible for everything that happens after he leaves office. That is my opinion. Help the people who are suffering - but the only ones to blame for that suffering are the terrorists who took down those buildings."

Re: Rudy Giuliani Abandons 9/11 Heroes
Actually...

"no one really understood the danger that was in the air at ground zero"

This is not true. The folks of Libby, Montana knew that asbestos had gone into the contruction of the building. I am sure that the city had records of what toxins ended up in the buildings. All cities keep those kinds of records so first responders don't rush into buildings and put their health or lives at risk.

After the first 9/11 attack, Rudy put the anti-terrorism control center in the basement of the building that had been attacked. Maybe it's just me, but if the enemy shows its willingness to attack a building, you do not put your control center in the same place, otherwise the center could be evacuated and all hell will break loose.

Rudy did not buy new police radios for the city, for years. The ones who escaped were the ones who heard the calls to evacuate. The others who had older radios did not make it out.

Also, the fact is that people in the government did prepare for the attacks. In fact, they knew for years that terrorists could hijack planes and fly them into buildings. They even prepared for attacks against the Pentagon and the WTC. Me thinks you give our intelligence community too little credit. They prepare for the worst and understand the threats the nation.

And all the while Condi ignored a memo stating "bin Laden determined to attack America." I am sure the intelligence community was thrilled by this.

You look at the short time he was mayor after 9/11, but you need to focus on what he did as mayor before 9/11 to understand how he was not up to the task.
