I'm pretty sure the previous one used ball berings and just moved them in and out of a tube to achieve the exact same thing.

Unhiding this because I believe the duplicate that the hider was referring to was actually a different link. If I'm wrong, the original hider can hide this again and point to the original they were thinking of using the new link forwarding mechanism.
