Obviously the first singer is meant to look like Jim Henson himself.

Not just Henson. Every one of these muppets is a copy of its muppeteer. The bass player is Frank Oz, the guitar player is Jerry Nelson. This "country trio" was used to do a whole bunch of other songs, too. This is my favourite though.
