Bill O'Reilly's Advice to Teens: Comic Strip
The Village Voice printed two pages worth of "Bill O'Reilly's very useful advice for young people, as channeled by vile left-wing smear merchant Tom Tomorrow."

I love how everyone behind the scenes can't hold their laughter...

Re: Bill O'Reilly's Advice to Teens: Comic Strip
Keith Olbermann should stick to what he does best: denouncing the Bush administration in well crafted monologues. His attempts at casual comedy are terrible.
On another note...
One thing that annoys me is how the media panders to the left or right of American politics. The only thing it accomplishes is to make some assholes feel a sense of unity, some reassurance that they are better than the 'other side'. Well, it is absolute BS. People need to stop siding with this team or that team. They need to look at the issues and the facts (available) to decide where they themselves stand, not where the party stands. People need to strive for individual thinking - NOT collectivist thinking.
So, when I see FOX News I know to turn it off because it is so completely one-sided (and embarrassingly stupid). All it does it promote a conservative political agenda and push one opinion. But, so does Keith Obermann. He's just pushing a liberal viewpoint (yet, he is intelligent). Though I may agree with his statements, I still can identify his BS. The whole spectacle ends up becoming a freakish news media meets WWF/sports fan wankfest.
When i hear someone say, "I'm a absolute liberal" or "I'm a diehard conservative" I instantly lose respect for their opinion because they obviously don't have one of their own. They just latch on to the groups ideas and leave the thinking to someone else.
Where are the neutral news casters of the old days, like Walter Cronkite. News men that didn't give a crap what each party or idealogical wanted. They just presented the f'n news and let the viewer decide.
Tell ya, I am so damn sick of this Red vs Blue idiocy that I want to kick a puppy.

Re: Bill O'Reilly's Advice to Teens: Comic Strip
there's more money in pandering to one side over the other. it's better for ratings, and ratings mean money.
the news casters jump on board in order to make the big bucks. i'm sure some feel obligated to work for a certain station in order to 'balance out' the viewpoint of the opposing stations. but mostly it's for the money.
in the new millennium, it's all about the benjamins. better get used to it now, it's only going to get worse.

Not funny. I have no problem with Olbermann taking simething O'reilly said and proving it to be complete bullshit in a funny matter. But just making up shit to laugh about is just out of line. I lost respect for him here.

Re: Bill O'Reilly's Advice to Teens: Comic Strip
Yes, I did too. Stuff like this deflates the potency of his more poignant presentations (ain't alliteration fun).
Regardless though, I have to wonder why all these liberal commentators feel the need to point out to us that Bill O'Reily is completely full of sh!t. How is this news or anything new? Same as waiting at a bus stop on a wet cloudy day and some asshole has the nerve to blurt, "Hey, look. Rain!". But, your only impulse is to punch the prick in the panaceas and say, "Ya, you're right. Hadn't fucking noticed".
BTW Ever met someone who ACTUALLY thinks O'Reily isn't a complete douchbag? I've seen their idiot websites, but never actually met one before. My theory is that they aren't real, just figments of the imagination. You know, like werewolves... or goblins... or honest people in government. I mean, who on earth could possibly be the bloody stupid?
Oh... wait, I forgot about the November '04 elections. Hmmm. Guess it could be possible then...

Re: Bill O'Reilly's Advice to Teens: Comic Strip
Keep in mind that O'Reilly does actually do some of those things mentioned in the comic, AND he did write a children's advice book.....so it was a logical, insightful, comedic extension by Tom Tomorrow to unite those actions into, shall we a say, a mini-sequel advice book for kids. Reading the comic out loud wasn't the most effective delivery, but it did give some good exposure to a talented political humorist (TT, not KO).

Re: Bill O'Reilly's Advice to Teens: Comic Strip
Now I think I can honestly say that Bill O'Reily is one of my least favorite people on the planet, but still I don't find Keith to really be anything special. Making fun of Bill'O should be like shooting fish in a barrel, and he only seems to pull it off marginally.
