The lead singer of The Sex Pistols was hired to promote Guitar Hero 3, but he appears to be a Rock Band fan.

I seriously hope "Johnny Rotten" got paid alot for reuniting the Sex Pistols for that song on that Video Game. I actually saw this game for the first time on Thanksgiving. My brother said some songs are original and some are covers.... My son was playing it while we watched. I heard the Sex Pistols song come on and thought to myself , " This is the WORST cover of this song I have ever heard." Only to find out it WAS the Sex Pistols. And originals by Pearl Jam and a few others followed. Who could miss the big ass Pontiac emblem on the top of the stage. Some might argue it's capitalizim , then again....Some might agree that it's a form of "Selling Out". I agree with both. You wanna sell out? Do it. Make more $$. Tell ya one thing....the Beastie Boys won't ever do ***stuff*** like this. Yay! I plugged the B-Boys! Where's my check? *grin*

Let me say that again so that it sinks in: it's JOHNNY ROTTEN.
I've been listening to the Sex Pistols for 30 years and while I like the music, Johnny Rotten has always been a total wanker. He's a colossal prick who's only interested in being a colossal prick in any way he can. He's always been this way since 1975, he always will be and he's proven it thousands of times. That's his shtick. One can't possibly be surprised or the least bit shocked by this.
The Guitar Hero marketing team isn't stupid and they knew exactly who and what he was, as well as knowing how belligerent he would most certainly be. I have no doubt it was very calculated and intentional.
