A classic Chipmunk Christmas special. This is one of the first television specials and/or television show in which Ross Bagdasarian's son, Ross Bagdasarian Jr. does the voices of Alvin, Simon and Dave Seville and also the first special in which Janice Karman voices Theodore. Shepard Menken returns as Clyde Crashcup, who originally appeared in The Alvin Show. Alvin overhears that Tommy is sick, and his family couldn't afford to buy the golden echo harmonica he always wanted, and are afraid that he might not make it through Christmas. Filled with Christmas spirit, Alvin decides to give his harmonica to Tommy to make him feel better.
