Hahahaha, to avoid this, jelly the cat.
The folks at PETA really confuse me. They are so dead set on animals being on an even playing field with humans, but every time I call and ask, they say that no, I can't adopt a PETA Picket worker to guard my house and sleep on my feet when they're cold.
Save our dwindling live stock populations, eat PETA. It's been clinically shown that nothing re-populates faster than bleeding-heart activist groups. :P
