Maybe, maybe not. I'm convinced that it's nostalgia at work here. Belushi as Brando didn't go over quite so well but his Samurai act did.
But alas, I tend to agree that there once was more gilt on the show than there is today. It's inevitable that something fresh and new gets old and stale.

I agree that comment always follows a SNL clip. And it is for good reason. I mean look at how lame that acting was. "Oh hello Bill Clinton", says Hillary to her husband. Total crap. SNL is so screwed if Hillary wins the election because they suck at impersonating her. So yeah, go ahead and count on my SNL used to be funny comment every time there is a craptacular clip posted.
