Not Working?
Just last week Bush vetoed $35 billion for sick children, but now he needs $46 billion more for the occupation in Iraq.
On Wed the House will have another hearing on the long-term cost of the war. The last time the figure was $1 trillion and it’s a no-brainer the new figure is going to be much higher.

Tells you something about Shrubya's priorities, huh? He's dedicated the balance of his lame duck term to making certain that some other president will be calling the troops home. And with the power of the veto, he's going to get it.

Re: Bush Says No To Children And Yes To War
That whole "government of the people for the people" was never true. Just a catchy phrase to keep people believing that the government is theirs.

Re: Bush Says No To Children And Yes To War
That's why I like Ron Paul so much. I don't want to live through a lukewarm presidency after all the remarkable BS and travesty of Bush. Ron Paul seems radical, but what the hell do we have to lose at this point? Plus, he's an MD. Not only does one have to be smart to be a doctor, but, for the most part, one must also be sincere about the advancement of the human race, as well as the alleviation of its sufferings.

Re: Bush Says No To Children And Yes To War
Kids from families making upwards of $80,000 per year would be able to opt out of their responsibility to pay for their kids' healthcare - which they could afford - and instead get "free" health care subsidized by taxpayers.
Sounds more like corporate welfare than helping the needy.
You honestly think Ron Paul would support a creeping socialized medicine? Your crazy.

Re: Bush Says No To Children And Yes To War
Another contributor to this discussion that quotes the FoxNoise idiocy about $80,000 in income.
Want the facts? Do a modicum of research:
http://www.cms.hhs.gov/MedicaidGenInfo/05_SCHIP%20Information.asp
Truth is, the program is funded by Federal dollars but run by local income levels, as they can vary wildly. A family of four living in Manhattan and paying $3500 a month for rent in an average community might be struggling on $80,000 whereas a dirt farmer in Alabama would be living high on the hog with that income level.
Honestly, use this medium for more than parroting your favorite TV news commentator in a forum. Use the search engine of your choice and use common-sense search criteria, like perhaps "schip state limits income" and maybe you'll find out that your favorite TV news personality is spewing Bush propaganda.

Re: Bush Says No To Children And Yes To War
It's bad enough our Democrat politicians lie about "it's for the children" when the expansion would cover "poor" "children" that are over 24 years old and coming from families making up to $80,000 a year.
Does Milk & Cookies have to be a propaganda-spreading puppet for the Democrats? And keep supporting their dishonest campaign to force sociialized healthcare on America?
What's wrong with M&C these days? Just a bunch of far-left liberals interviewing other far left liberals...near daily clips of Jon Stewart parroting out Democrat talking points...and the regular "intellectual attacks" against Christianity without showing an opposing view (it's easy to win an agurment when the other side is left out of the debate).
I never thought I'd say this, but I like Ebaumsworld better now. At least it isn't a pathetic neo-socialist mouthpiece for uber-liberal politicians.
If you already have CNN and Comedy Central, what do you really need Milk and Cookies for?

Re: Bush Says No To Children And Yes To War
At least some of us regulars do not distribute misinformation, such as age 24 or over $80,000 in income recipients.
Perhaps you ought to do some fact checking instead of just parroting the talking points put forth by your favorite GOP spokespersons.

I, however, only distribute mis-information. Im not into facts. =\ Also, ebaums world steals media and takes credit for it. That may or may not be a fact... comming from me and all... but they did take some pics from somethingawful.com... and...yeah.

I could respond to this at length, but I'll just cut to the chase: If you don't like the site, then don't come back.

No, not Ebaumsworld! Gee, tired, old, retread content that Baumann claims is his own?
Thanks for coming, Johnny... make sure Ynot gets a copy of the home game on his way out.

Good ol' Jack Cafferty... He's just like that old Irish grandpa at Thanksgiving dinner who says exactly what everyone at the table was thinking, manners be damned.

Can't disprove a fact, so you simply call it "misinformation"? You're a moron.
iBursandwich: "If you don't like the site, then don't come back."
Being a master of the obvious is nothing to be proud of. I just came back to this page to see how many flaming leftist would defend the indefensible.
spam_vigilante part 2: "Gee, tired, old, retread content that Baumann claims is his own?"
This, in defense of a website that uses Stewart, Colbert, Olbermann, and Robot Chicken for a large chunk of his content? I have cable already, thank you. I see you didn't get any smarter with your second posting. Sorry, you're a loser. Thank you for playing.

Re: Bush Says No To Children And Yes To War
Gee, it's such a shame to be losing you to Ebaumsworld.
You know, we do have several right-leaning contributors here who most of us get along with. Shadowbot, Cyberfox, Podwall and others. It's a shame that you choose to be acrimonious rather than engage in a discussion that just happens to be a difference in opinion. Several of these other people have no difficulty in intelligent debate.
But thanks very much for sharing your clever use of adjectives. It makes clear your limits. Quite frankly, I find it amusing when an adversary makes my case for me. You've done quite well.
