Southwest Airlines. They must actually encourage this kind of fun stuff because I went from San Jose to LAX on them for a few flights. Once, a rather diminutive flight attendant was up in the overhead luggage compartments sabotaging passengers who would open it up. Another time, the announcement regarding federal laws against destroying the smoke detector was "$xx amount in fines, and quite frankly not a very nice thing to do."

You betcha. She was kind of tiny but a real live human flight attendant. I did a little research on Herb Kelliher (sp?), the CEO of that airline (and the one in this clip). It turns out that he DOES encourage this kind of fun on the job.

I don't remember what airline I was on, but after a flight while the flight attendant was doing her landing spiel, she made some similar jokes and sang a song.
"Please turn off all electronic devices including cell phones. You don't have any friends to talk to anyways. No one likes you."

From what I've been told, they started doing this in an effort to relax passengers who were irritated by the security lines and waits, and get them to listen once again to the spiel. Seems it works. : )
