Keith Olbermann: McConnell Smears Toddler

The bottom line, when it comes to the two political parties, is that the GOP simply block and tackle better. They're far more organized and generally do better when there is an advantage to be gained by shifting arguments and repeating their talking points.

I think their both full of crap really. It's just been back and forth bitching for decades now and only during a catastrophic event do they actually ACT like they like each other. Just wish we could have a huge overhaul in our political party system, though to me there should be no political parties. Sadly it isn't a perfect world.

Re: Keith Olbermann: McConnell Smears Toddler
You have to look at all the fighting between political parties with a grain of salt. Both parties actually agree on about 90% of the issues-- which is why about 90% of the bills pass quickly and easily. But there is no debate or reporting on those issues. Why debate when you already agree?

It is that last 10% of stuff they dont agree on that gets 3/4 the floor debate time and 99% or the media reporting time.

Also the majority of representatives have lots of people they get along great with on the other side of the isle. But how can a reporter get noticed if he writes a story about Senator X (a republican) said "I think Senator Y (a democrate) did some good work on that sewage treatment bill." When the other reporters are quoting Senator Z calling somone a commie-loving librel baby-killer. Unless your PBS you HAVE to write about only the conflict.

As for the two party system-- I agree-- it leads to alot arguments and positioning on that 10% of issues-- when what you want is cooperative and innovative problem solving. But as a wise man once said,

"Democracy is the worst form of goverment, excpet for every other form of goverment we have discovered up to this point."

A two party system is MUCH better then a one party system which allows way more abuses-- so what other choice do you have.

P.S. on my comment
What I think is screwed up isn't the Legislative but the Judicial branch. There has to be a system where you don't put innocent people in jail, but still don't let O.J. Simpson off the hook.

Re: P.S. on my comment
Uh, the Judicial branch isn't responsible for OJ's verdict. The jury that presided over the case is responsible.
