Re: Pixies - Wave Of Mutilation
19 year old kid: I saw the Pixies... they rocked.
Old man: No, you saw their stagnant corpses propped up on stage prentending to be the Pixies. The Pixies were an innovative, trailblazing band from the 80s. It is 2007. This is a cover band. An amazing cover band. It wasn't cool when the Rollings Stones did it and it is not cool now.
Am I the only one against this onslaught of rock reunions where bands retroactively invalidate the integrity and sincerity or their younger selves?
When you stop growing creatively that's one thing. When you get on stage and announce it to the world... over and over... that's just depressing.
19 year old kid: They still rocked.
Old man: Yes they did.

Unless your T-shirts say "Pixies Sellout Tour"... in which case it is a little hilarious.

Re: Pixies - Wave Of Mutilation
In the 80's when my friends were buying Nelson singles on tape I was a huge Pixies fan. That album was one of their best and I even heard this song in WalMart of all places recently. I agree though, their creative talents have stagnated and this clip is a faint shadow of what they were.
