Not Working?
After The Flintstones was cancelled in 1966, the people at Busch Beer contacted Hanna-Barbera in order for them to produce a complete episode of The Flintstones in order to promote their beer product.

flipping Drug pushers... i am glad they moved on to the Clydesdale horse(s) now...and it's all about being responsible.
I wonder if ol' Fred and Barney were really living in St. Louis?

Re: Flintstones shill Beer
This is pretty cool. But what were they going to do with an episode of a cancelled show? Would, could (or did) this appear as part of the rerun series? Or was it just for internal sales people.
I like how their target audience is 20% of the people who buy 80% of the beer. So...drunks. I guess drunks were pretty big on The Flintstones?

Re: Flintstones shill Beer
This is not really an episode of the show, It's an industrial film for the Busch sellers in a form of an Flintstones episode

Re: Flintstones shill Beer
There's a series of cigarette ad's from the Flintstones floatin around somewhere too. I forget the brand, but it kills me that these were once valid mediums for advertising. And they get mad at TODAYS advertising saying it might hook kids??? Not to mention, this episode is poorly written :P lol . Good find though, whoever dug this fossil up.

Must.... eat... brains....
I mean... drink Busch...
But really, here are some disturbing parts of this little animation:
- the disembodied hands and eerie burlesque music and female voice that appear when Barney and Fred drink their beers... creepy and sexy at the same time. Did I say sexy? I meant sexist. Honest.
- that 20% of beer drinkers drink 80% of beer (Was that a made up statistic? If not, is that still true?)
- the hypnotic circles that appear on the TV appear in Fred's eyes
