SCTV: Parody of Michael McDonald
The joke was, at the time (early 80's ) McDonald seemed to show up and do guest backing vocals on just about every other pop record on the radio. Just another one of those subtle SCTV jabs. Of course, McDonald was also one of the main talents with The Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan.
